Visa

Do I need a visa to travel to Zanzibar (Tanzania)?

Yes, it is necessary to apply for a visa to go to Zanzibar (Tanzania). There are two options for doing this:


A) The visa can be processed on arrival at the airport, at customs, it is very simple. The cost is 50 USD per person, and it is advisable to pay in dollars
cash to facilitate the transaction.



B) The visa can also be done online, through the official website. If you choose this option,
We recommend that you process your visa at least 10 days before the departure of your trip.

Vaccinations

Is there a mandatory vaccine?

No, there is no mandatory vaccine to travel to Zanzibar (Tanzania), as long as you have not traveled in the last 12 months to a yellow fever endemic territory (Tanzania does NOT have one and therefore will require the vaccination test). Check with the nearest international vaccination center for the rest of the recommended vaccines.

How is medical care at destination?

Tanzania is generally considered a hygienic country to travel to. It is also comforting to know that in Tanzania there are good private hospitals and medical facilities, and air evacuations in Nairobi, Kenya.

As with a trip to any part of the world, it is important to report on any previous medical conditions in the event of an emergency.

Wildlife Zanzibar

Colobs of Zanzibar
They are endemic to Zanzibar, black in color with a long, white tail. They can be seen in the Jozani Forest, which is their main habitat.
Giant Tortoise
Originally from the Aldabra Islands in Seychelles, they were introduced to Prison Island in the 19th century.
Dolphin
On the coast of Zanzibar, especially in areas like Kizimkazi, you can find dolphins and participate in excursions to see them in their natural habitat.
Coral
Some of the most prominent places to find them include the areas around Paje, Nungwi and Kendwa.
